Hi, my name is Tessa and I’m a commercial interior designer based in Brisbane. With a Diploma of Interior Design and currently studying a Diploma of Project Management to build on my skills. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with builders, architects and other designers, which has given me a well-rounded understanding of how projects come together from all angles.

I’ve also worked with clients such as Sentinel, Shayher Group, CBRE and Dexus. I love being involved early in the process, working with builders and tenants collaboratively from the beginning of a project. Design is rarely static; it’s fluid and adaptable, shaped by pricing restrictions, council requirements and structural elements. I enjoy navigating those challenges and finding creative ways to deliver a design that still feels considered and complete.

What I love most about design is finding that balance between creativity and practicality. I enjoy developing colour palettes that bring character to a space, and I’m good at making big ideas work in tight layouts. I believe a well-designed space can change the way people work and connect. That’s why through Edit Interiors, I focus on creating workplaces and retail environments that not only look great but also make day to day life easier, more productive and enjoyable.

Every project is a collaboration. I take the time to listen, understand what matters most to my clients, and then translate their vision into a design that feels right for them. The Big Debate: Which Profession Reigns Supreme in Construction? 🏆

Last night, the Property Leaders Network hosted a truly unmissable evening at the beautiful @shape_aus offices, and it was anything but your average industry event!

In an epic showdown of wits, passion, and just the right amount of playful banter, four heavyweights took to the stage to settle the age-old question: “Which profession is really the most important in construction?”

🔧 The Engineer brought the numbers and the structures. 🏛️ The Architect argued for beauty, design and vision. 🗺️ The Town Planner mapped out community, policy and purpose. 📋 And the Project Manager? Well, they kept everything (and everyone) on track (with a bagpipe performance) 😂

What followed was a fast-paced, hilarious and thought-provoking debate that had the audience in stitches and genuinely rethinking the dynamics of construction delivery.
Each speaker made a compelling (and entertaining!) case for why their profession is the true cornerstone of any successful project; and let’s just say, no one held back!

Thank you to the speakers and the Property Leaders Network for making it such a vibrant and engaging night. While the debate may never be settled, one thing’s clear: every role plays a crucial part in shaping our built environment.
